Product Overview

Description

Cre recombination enzyme (Cyclization Recombination Enzyme) is the most commonly used site-specific DNA recombination enzyme, cloned from bacteriophage P1, consisting of 343 amino acids. The action site of Cre is the 34bp LoxP sequence. Some LoxP mutants can also be recognized by Cre, including Lox2272, Lox511, etc. Usually these mutants can only recombine with their own sequence. On the same DNA molecule, depending on the direction of the two Lox sequences that undergo recombination, the sequence between the two sequences will be deleted or reversed.

The mCaMKIIa promoter, cloned from the promoter region of mouse calmodulin-dependent protein kinase IIa, is 1.3 kb in length, and is specifically expressed in excitatory neuronal cells.
