Description

The tumor suppressor protein p53 is one of the key roles in cancer biology. DNA damage and oxidative stress signals can lead to post-translational modification and stabilization of p53 by binding to its consensus sequence p53 response element. Stable p53 can interact with other transcriptional regulators to induce p53 reactive targets involved in cell cycle progression, cell senescence, or apoptotic cell death. Since the expression and activity of p53 often change in human cancers, p53 has become an important drug target and a biomarker in the process of carcinogenesis. Our acetylated p53 ELISA kit is a sandwich ELISA assay for the quantitative determination of acetylated p53 in human serum, plasma and cell culture supernatant. The density of the color is directly proportional to the amount of acetylated p53 captured from the sample.
This ELISA kit is used for quantitative measurement of Acetyl-p53 in human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids.

Application Notes

This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of Acetyl-p53. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Acetyl-p53 and analogues was observed.
