Acute Spinal Cord Injury Research Tools
Acute spinal cord injury (SCI) is a traumatic injury that either results in a bruise, a partial tear, or a complete tear in the spinal cord. It is a common cause of permanent disability and death in children and adults. The most common symptoms of acute spinal cord injuries may include:
- Muscle weakness
- Loss of voluntary muscle movement in the chest, arms, or legs
- Breathing problems
- Loss of feeling in the chest, arms, or legs
- Loss of bowel and bladder function
Efforts to prevent SCI include individual measures (e.g. safety equipment), societal measures (e.g. safety regulations in sports and traffic) and improvements of equipment. Improved emergency care, aggressive treatment and rehabilitation can minimize damage to the nervous system and even restore limited abilities. However, spinal cord injuries require long-term physical and occupational therapy if it interferes with activities of daily life.
Creative Biolabs aims to help our customers understand and diagnose acute spinal cord injury. We provide up-to-date products that are needed in SCI study. They include but are not limited to cell lines, monoclonal antibodies, polyclonal antibodies, labeled antibodies, proteins, analytical kits, and small molecules.
