CLEIA/CLIA Kits

Chemiluminescence (CL) refers to the reflection of light produced by a chemical reaction. The chemiluminescent immunoassay (CLIA) is an analytical method that uses an instrument to detect the chemiluminescence intensity of the system and determine the content of the analyte. It operates on the tenet that, under specific circumstances, the chemiluminescence intensity of the system is linearly quantitatively connected to the analyte concentration in the chemiluminescence detection system.

Advantages

CLIA has the following advantages over other traditional immunological technologies:

  • Highly automated
  • Good specificity
  • High accuracy
  • Wide detection range

Workflow of CLIA

The two systems used in CLIA are chemiluminescence and immunoassay. The immunoassay method forms antigen-antibody immune complexes by reacting with antigens through the use of chemiluminescent materials or enzymes as markers that are directly tagged on antigens or antibodies. Once the immunological response is finished, the chemiluminescence analyzer adds oxidizing agents or enzyme luminous substrates. A luminescence signal meter can be used to measure the luminescence intensity after the oxidants have oxidized the chemiluminescent materials.

Chemiluminescent Enzyme Immunoassay (CLEIA) Kits

CLELA conducts immunological reactions using enzyme-labeled antigens or antibodies. The immunological reaction complex's enzyme then acts on the luminescent substrate, causing it to emit light in response to the signal reagent. The luminescence is detected by a luminescence signal meter, and the chemiluminescence intensity is determined by the enzyme concentration.

While CLEIA uses an antibody enzyme reaction in a similar manner to ELISA, it is more sensitive since it uses chemiluminescence instead of fluorescence or colorimetric absorbance. As chemiluminescence usually has minimal background interference, it can identify traces of analytes. Photodiodes or photomultiplier tubes can also be used to measure these reactions with ease. These types of kits are becoming increasingly popular due to their greater sensitivity, specificity, reliability, and reproducibility.

Creative Biolabs' experienced scientists have extensive experience in developing CLEIA/CLIA kits. We can develop a CLEIA/CLIA assay for your specific target, and we will determine which kit is best suited for your experiment.
