Expression Vectors

The construction of gene expression vectors is a key step in molecular biology research. It provides scientists with an effective tool for expressing foreign genes in host cells. Creative Biolabs also generates vectors to serve scientists in the field of neuroscience. All of our cDNA clones are in proprietary vectors that have been rigorously tested and cited thousands of times.

Types of Plasmid Vectors

Types Description
pUC The pUC series of plasmids is one of the most widely used cloning vectors. Their main features include small size, high copy number, multiple restriction enzyme sites and promoters, and antibiotic selection markers.
pcDNA The pcDNA series of plasmids are widely used for gene expression in eukaryotic cells. These plasmids have elements such as efficient promoters, selectable marker genes (e.g. antibiotic resistance genes), and cell localization signals.
pET The pET series of plasmids is a typical vector for protein expression in E. coli. Their properties include a large copy number, an excellent promoter, and components like His tags for protein purification and detection.
pGEX pGEX series plasmids are commonly used for fusion protein expression in E. coli. They contain a GST (glutathione S-transferase) tag that allows the target protein to be fused to the GST protein for easy purification.
BAC Escherichia coli artificial chromosome (BAC) plasmids are a type of large plasmid commonly used to carry large fragments of genomic DNA. BAC plasmids facilitate the stable delivery, expression, and study of specific regions of the entire genome in eukaryotic organisms.
pAAV Adeno-associated virus (AAV) plasmids are widely used in gene delivery research. These plasmids can effectively deliver foreign genes into target cells and are suitable for fields such as gene therapy and gene editing.
Yeast Yeast plasmids are commonly used for gene expression and research in yeast cells. They typically contain a yeast-specific promoter and a selectable marker gene.

ORF Clones

Creative Biolabs offers a comprehensive selection of full-length ORF clones with 5' and 3' UTR deleted to accelerate protein expression. These ORFs facilitate various downstream applications such as protein detection and purification, helping researchers to unravel complex biological processes. Using advanced cloning technology, our comprehensive ORF clone library covers different species and different neurological diseases, allowing researchers to effectively locate genes of interest.
