Description
Domperidone is a dopamine blocker and anti-dopaminergic drug. Target: Dopamine receptors. Due to better tolerability, domperidone is a useful alternative to metoclopramide for the treatment of gastroparesis. Domperidone is a dopamine D(2) receptor antagonist that has been used as an antiemetic in humans. Domperidone is a dopamine antagonist that does not easily cross the blood-brain barrier and is considered the gold standard for the treatment of gastrointestinal symptoms in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD).
