Description
The immortalized human dopaminergic neuron precursor cells, also known as the Lund human midbrain (LUHMES) cell line, are tetracycline-controlled, and overexpress v-myc-derived human midbrain-derived cell line MESC2.10. Cloning. This cell line is LUHMES expressing functional dopamine transporter (DAT), vesicular monoamine transporter (VMAT-2), tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) and neuronal β-differentiated III microtubules In addition to retaining the specific markers of dopaminergic neurons, LUHMES also has electrophysiological properties, thus making this cell line a valuable neuron model for neurodevelopmental research, disease modeling and neuropharmacology.

Application Notes
The basic medium for this cell line is Advanced DMEM/F12 (Gibco; 12634010). To make a complete growth medium, please add the following ingredients to the basic medium: N2 supplement (ThermoFisher Scientific), the final concentration is 1X The final concentration of L-glutamine (NCL-2105-P181-AM) is 2 mM, and the final concentration of recombinant human FGF2 (NCL-2105-P177-AM) is 40 ng/ml.
Change the media every 2-3 days. Do not let the media color change to orange-yellow.
When under pressure, the cells will form round clumps instead of a single layer. When the cells have grown to a cell density of 50-60%, subculture is recommended.
