Product Overview

Description

Spinocerebellar ataxia is a rare inherited autosomal dominant disorder that causes progressive cerebellar ataxia. There are different subtypes of the disease, which are based on mutations in the Ataxin gene family as well as in the calcium channel subunit genes. Creative Biolabs cell lines derived from spinocerebellar ataxia patients as well as familial and unaffected controls are excellent models for studying this rare genetic disorder. Creative Biolabs now offers custom human iPSC-derived brain cells or cardiomyocytes derived from patients with spinocerebellar ataxia.

Customer Reviews and Q&As
Q&As
Which reagents is used for thawing, maintaining neuronal stem cells in culture and for their differentiation into terminal neurons?
We have three standard neuronal protocols for our NSCs including Enriched Cortical Neuron protocol, Striatal Neuron protocol and Spontaneous Differentiation protocol. If you give us guidance of which, we would be happy to provide you with further advice.
Which genetic stability tests were performed on the NSCs?
Our iPSCs go through extensive QC testing. The testing includes sterility, Sendai clearance (where relevance), viability, karyotyping, confirmation of genetic mutation and phenotyping against a range of pluripotency markers including SSEA-1, SSEA-3, SSEA-4, NANOG, OCT3/4 and TRA-1-60.
Which pluripotency tests were performed on the NSCs?
We have confirmed the pluripotency of our iPSCs by differentiating them into a wide-range of different cell types including NSCs, cortical neurons, astrocytes, microglia, monocytes, macrophages, interneurons, dopaminergic, striatal, sensory neurons, motor neurons and atrial & ventricular cardiomyocytes.
Do you have NSC obtained from healthy donors?
Yes, you can find the information below: iNeu™ Human Neural Stem Cells (Male), Source Fibroblasts (74 Yr Donor), Cat.#NCL-2101-ZP04 iNeu™ Human Neural Stem Cells (Female), Source Fibroblasts (64 Yr Donor), Cat.#NCL-2101-ZP05
