Description

Spinocerebellar ataxia is a rare inherited autosomal dominant disorder that causes progressive cerebellar ataxia. There are different subtypes of the disease, which are based on mutations in the Ataxin gene family as well as in the calcium channel subunit genes. Creative Biolabs cell lines derived from spinocerebellar ataxia patients as well as familial and unaffected controls are excellent models for studying this rare genetic disorder. Creative Biolabs now offers custom human iPSC-derived brain cells or cardiomyocytes derived from patients with spinocerebellar ataxia.
