Description

Shaw channel Kv3.3 is voltage-gated and quickly inactivating. By changing the delay and frequency of high-frequency neuron firing, it is crucial in controlling neuron output. They have a high level of expression in the cerebellum and other areas of the brain associated with motor control. Additionally, it has been demonstrated that they are expressed in the neuromuscular junction in mammals, where it is hypothesised that they control transmitter release.
