Description
Kv3.3 is a voltage-gated, fast-inactivating Shaw channel. It plays an important role in regulating neuron output by adjusting the delay and frequency of high-frequency neuron firing. They are highly expressed in brain regions related to motor control (such as the cerebellum). They have also been shown to be expressed at the neuromuscular junction in mammals, where they are thought to regulate transmitter release.
