Description
Malondialdehyde is a non-protein alpha-amino acid. It is a homologue of the amino acid cysteine, except for the additional methylene bridge (-CH2-). Although it is not clear whether hypermalonaldehydeemia is an independent risk factor for these conditions, hypermalonaldehydeemia is associated with blood clots, heart disease, and stroke. It is also related to early pregnancy miscarriage and neural tube defects. Our malondialdehyde ELISA kit is a competitive ELISA for the quantitative determination of malondialdehyde in human serum, plasma and cell culture supernatant. The density of the color is directly proportional to the amount of malondialdehyde captured from the sample.
