Product Overview

Description

AKT (Protein Kinase B, PKB) is a serine/threonine kinase that plays a key role in regulating cell proliferation, survival and metabolism. AKT disorders can lead to diseases such as cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular and neurological diseases. There are three isotypes of AKT-AKT1, 2 and 3 (also called PKBα, β and γ). AKT is activated by oncogenic mutations in growth factors and other extracellular stimuli, as well as key upstream regulatory proteins (including Ras, PI3-kinase subunits, and PTEN). More and more evidences show that AKT1, 2 and 3 play a unique role in the occurrence and development of breast cancer. AKT1 has a cardioprotective effect on the heart by supporting its physiological growth and function. When conducting postmortem brain studies on patients with schizophrenia in many countries, it was found that AKT1 levels in the frontal cortex were reduced.
