Product Overview

Description

The NRP-0422-P2293antibody is a human recombinant, monoclonal anti-tau IgG1 antibody generated targeting the mid-domain of tau. It was reported to block tau aggregation in vitro and also to block neuron-to-neuron propagation of tau. It recognizes monomeric and fibrillar forms, as well as tau isolated from healthy human and Alzheimer's disease brains.

user
Excellent
Its ability to inhibit tau in vitro is especially useful
I've used several anti-tau antibodies, but NeuroMab stands out for its performance in both in vivo and in vitro experiments. The antibody effectively inhibits tau aggregation in our models, which is critical for our Alzheimer's disease research.
user
Excellent
Highly effective
This antibody's ability to block tau activity in vitro is impressive. It integrates well with various assays, offering high-quality results and ease of use. A valuable addition to our toolkit for studying tau-related neurodegeneration.
user
Excellent
Offered excellent specificity for tau proteins
This antibody provides clear and consistent results in our experiments. It's particularly effective for our in vivo studies on tau-related pathologies, making it a reliable choice for studying tau dynamics.
user
Excellent
Showed high specificity and efficacy
The specificity of antibody for tau proteins is remarkable. In our lab, it has facilitated accurate blocking of tau aggregation in cell culture models. The antibody's performance is consistent, which helps in obtaining reproducible data.
Q&As
Can the antibody be used for both in vitro and in vivo studies?
Yes, the antibody is versatile and can be used in both in vitro and in vivo studies. Its effectiveness in blocking tau activity is well-documented in various experimental setups, making it suitable for a wide range of research applications, from cellular models to animal studies on tauopathies and neurodegenerative diseases.
Is this antibody suitable for use in live cell imaging?
This antibody is generally used for fixed cell assays and may not be suitable for live cell imaging due to potential impacts on cell viability and function. For live cell imaging applications, consider using antibodies or probes specifically designed for live cell studies or utilize alternative methods for tau visualization.
Are there any specific controls recommended when using the antibody?
Yes, using appropriate controls is crucial for validating the results when using the antibody. Recommended controls include negative controls (e.g., non-immune serum or an isotype control antibody) and positive controls with known tau expression. This helps confirm the specificity and reliability of your experimental results.
