Description

Human anti-human vimentin antibody recognizes human vimentin, a 54 kDa class III intermediate filament. Vimentin is preferentially expressed in mesenchymal tissues and remains in the immune system throughout the development of T cells. As it matures, the expression in B lymphocytes decreases. In lymphoid tissues, vimentin expression is seen in the marginal zone, but not in the center of the follicle. The lack of vimentin expression in B-cell lymphomas indicates central follicular origin.
