Description

IFN-induced dsRNA-dependent serine/threonine-protein kinase (EIF2AK2) is an important component of the innate immune response to viral infection. The N-terminal of EIF2AK2 contains a double stranded RNA (dsRNA) binding domain, which binds dsRNA introduced to the host cells by viral infection, and activates a pro-apoptotic signal in the host cell.
