Product Overview

Description

FMIP, also known as FMS-Interacting Protein and THOC5, is a member of the THO complex, which is part of the larger TREX (transcription/export) complex. The TREX complex binds specifically to spliced mRNA, where it binds upstream of the exon-junction complex and aids in mRNA export. TREX machinery is also utilized by Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus and certain other viruses for the propagation of virus production. FMIP may also be involved in granulocyte and adipocyte differentiation.

This monoclonal antibody was raised against a bacterially expressed C-terminal recombinant GST fusion protein derived from 3' 2.25 kb EcoRV-EcoR1 FMIP cDNA fragment.
