Description

The genetically modified neurons developed by Creative Biolabs uses genetic engineering technology to genetically modify neurons to stably express specific exogenous genes, such as fluorescent proteins, neurotransmitter probes, calcium ion probes, light-sensitive proteins, etc., so as to realize real-time observation and precise manipulation of cells. These genetically modified neurons can be applied in a variety of fields such as electrophysiology, optogenetics, and neural circuit tracing.

Ace2N belongs to genetically encoded fluorescent voltage indicators (GEVIs), composed of voltage-sensitive protein and fluorescent protein, which can fluoresce with the voltage change of nerve cells. Genetically encoded voltage indicators can tell us about fluctuations in cell membrane potential, which are more direct reflections of neuronal activity than calcium indicators. Unlike traditional electrophysiological techniques, the sensor can analyze the activity of multiple defined neurons at the same time.
