Description
NeuroPhys™ Neuron Medium is a serum-free basic medium for neurons. NeuroPhys™ can be used to cultivate primary neurons or neurons derived from human pluripotent stem cells (hPSC). According to the formula published by Cedric Bardy and Fred H. Gage (C Bardy et al. PNAS, 2015), NeuroPhys™ is more representative of the extracellular environment of the central nervous system and increases the proportion of synaptic active neurons.

To ensure long-term serum-free cell survival, BrainPhys™ must be used in combination with appropriate supplements. For your convenience, various BrainPhys™ kits can be used for primary or hPSC-derived neurons. It is recommended to use BrainPhys™ Neuron Medium and SM1 Kit (Cat. No. NCC200596ZP) for primary neuron culture. It is recommended to use BrainPhys™ Primary Neuron Kit (Cat.#NCC200598ZP) for the cultivation and cultivation of primary neurons. It is recommended that BrainPhys™ Neuron Medium N2-A and SM1 Kit (Cat. No. NCC200597ZP) and BrainPhys™ hPSC Neuron Kit (Cat. No. NCC200599ZP) be differentiated and matured from hPSC-derived neurons and combined with lineage-specific growth factors And/or small molecules (if necessary).

The application of NeuroPhys™ neuron medium includes the cultivation of primary neurons, the differentiation and maturation of hPSC-derived neurons, the recording of neuron activity based on microelectrode arrays, real-time fluorescence imaging (including calcium imaging and optogenetics), and transdifferentiation of somatic cells to neurons.
