Description
ANTXR2 is called anthrax toxin receptor 2, because it allows the toxin that causes anthrax to attach to cells and cause disease. This protein is involved in the formation of tiny blood vessels (capillaries). It is also important for maintaining the structure of the basement membrane. ANTXR2 protein is expressed in Escherichia coli and purified by conventional chromatographic techniques. The recombinant human ANTXR2 protein is fused with a His tag at the N-terminus. It is a thin flake structure that can separate and support cells in many tissues.
