Description
BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor) is an effective neurotrophic protein and a member of the NGF-β family. It is secreted from dense core vesicles and can promote neurons in the central nervous system (CNS) or directly connected to it Growth, differentiation and survival.). BDNF signals by binding to the high-affinity receptor trkB, and also binds to the low-affinity neurotrophin receptor LNGFR. Studies have shown that BDNF is involved in the regulation of short-term synaptic function and the formation of long-term memory. In patients with Alzheimer's disease and Huntington's disease, the level of BDNF is reduced.
