Description
Interleukin 10 (IL-10) is a member of the alpha-helical cytokine of the IL-10 family. IL-10 is an immunosuppressive cytokine produced by a variety of mammalian cell types, including macrophages, monocytes, T cells, B cells, and keratinocytes. IL10 inhibits the expression of many pro-inflammatory cytokines, including IFN-γ, IL-2, IL-3, TNF and GM-CSF. Like IL-4, IL-10 enhances the humoral immune response and weakens the cell-mediated immune response.
