Description
Recombinant mouse interleukin-1 beta. Interleukin-1 beta (IL-1 beta) is a 17.5 kDa pro-inflammatory cell-related cytokine, produced by monocytes, tissue macrophages, keratinocytes and other epithelial cells. IL-1β promotes the proliferation of memory T cells and the production of cytokines. It weakens regulatory T cell functions and prevents CD4 + CD25- self-reactive effectors from being suppressed. IL-1β signals downstream of myc and is necessary for tumor cell angiogenesis and invasiveness. IL-1β directly participates in neuronal damage in neurodegenerative diseases, and stimulates mitotic FGF-like activity, bone resorption and promotes the release of collagenase and prostaglandins from synovial cells.
