Description

The SF126 glioblastoma cell line was derived from a 50-year-old female patient's left frontal lobe tumor. SF126 is a patient-derived cell line that originated from frontal lobe tumors. SF126 cells do not express glial markers GFAP or glutamine synthetase, but express laminin and fibronectin in the early passages and are positive, suggesting the proliferation or transformation of mesenchymal cells of glioblastoma. SF126 cells showed supertriploid and fibroblast morphology in culture, and were not tumorigenic in athymic mice.
