Description

Elastin is a highly elastic protein in connective tissue that allows many tissues in the body to regain their shape after being stretched or contracted. It is usually thinner than collagen fibers. The Verhoeff-Van Gieson Elastin Stain Kit is used to identify elastic fibers in tissues such as skin, aorta, etc. on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections, and can also be used for cryosectioning. The spandex will be dyed blue-black and the background will be dyed yellow.
