Description

The Human ES / iPS Neurogenesis Kit is a powerful and easy-to-use kit that contains the necessary serum-free / chemically-defined culture medium and reagents for rapid production and expansion from multipotent human ES and iPS cells Neural progenitor cells and terminally differentiated neurons. The medium contained in the kit relies on both small molecule nerve inducers and supplements to generate highly enriched expandable neural progenitor cells and terminal neurons. Neural progenitor cells are 10 days from the initial culture of traditional feeder- and / or feeder-free cultures of undifferentiated human ES / iPS cells and can be expanded for more than 3-5 passages, resulting in minimal 20 times amplification. Generally, there are an estimated 500,000 multipotent human ES / iPS from 1 well in 6-well plates after 3 passages, and approximately 5-10 million neural progenitor cells can be obtained. The resulting neural progenitor cells are pluripotent and can be further differentiated into specific nerve cell subtypes of interest.
