Product Overview

Description

This gene produces a membrane protein that is a hyperpolarized cation channel that helps the heart and neurons' natural pacemaker currents. Cation channels like HCN1 are activated by hyperpolarization of the HCN gene family, and they help to support the spontaneous rhythmic activity of the heart and brain. A wide variety of pain states' emergence and persistence are also linked to the spontaneous neuronal activity of the HCN channel, and generalised idiopathic seizures are linked to the hereditary loss of HCN1 channel expression.
