Receptor Target Validation Services
Creative Biolabs has long-lasting expertise in the field of drug discovery. Based on our advanced platforms, we are willing to provide comprehensive receptor target validation services for our clients all over the world.
Introduction to Target Validation
Biological targets are proteins or nucleic acids within a living organism, which are bound by receptors or molecules causing a series of alterations in their structures, functions, and behaviors. In pharmaceutical research, the activity of biological targets can be modified by a drug to achieve a desirable therapeutic effect or avoid an unwanted adverse effect.
Receptor-target validation is the most basic and important stage in the new drug development process, which always takes 2-6 months. This process involves a series of techniques to verify the effect of the drug candidate on the target of interest. An early rigorous target validation process can increase understanding between target and disease, thereby improving the likelihood of clinical success and minimizing the risk of drug development failure. Once the target validation is completed, the drug discovery project moves into the hit identification stage.

Receptor-Target Validation Service
Receptor-target validation provides important information in preclinical studies and additional data in clinical phase trials. Scientists in Creative Biolabs provide the target validation service for the demands of neuroscience research by using our well-established cell culture systems and disease models. For example, we have developed a broad range of disease models using iPSC-derived neuronal cells from patients.
Microelectrode arrays (MEAs), also known as multielectrode arrays, are devices with tens to thousands of microelectrodes which were developed to obtain or deliver neural signals. In general, there are two major types of MEAs, including implantable MEAs in vivo and non-implantable MEAs in vitro. Using our advanced MEA electrophysiology technology, Creative Biolabs has the ability to probe neural networks in cellular cultures, tissues, and brain slices. Compared with traditional patch-clamp electrophysiology, MEAs allow multiplexing experiments and recording field potentials from neural populations rather than individual neurons. According to our MEA read-outs, the functional effect of a potential treatment can be evaluated.
