Description
It has been possible to clone four distinct hyperpolarization activated, cyclic nucleotide modulation (HCN) channel subtypes (HCN1-4). The rhythmic spontaneous activity of the heart and central nervous system is influenced by the HCN channel. The selective HCN blocker ZD7288 can reduce the spontaneous discharge and pain perception of injured nerves in several neuropathic pain models, suggesting that HCN channels may possibly be involved.
