Description
Pdi1p is a yeast protein disulfide isomerase. It is a major endoplasmic reticulum protein with molecular chaperone and co-molecular chaperone activities and participates in the retention of resident endoplasmic reticulum proteins. It also has the role of recognizing proteins that target endoplasmic reticulum associated degradation (ERAD) and is a member of the protein disulfide isomerase family. Proteins in this family can also break the disulfide bonds on the substrate protein. This protein is also called Eps1p.
