Description
A complete medium for normal meningeal cells in vitro is one that combines meningeal cell culture medium (MCM), meningeal cell growth supplement (MCGS, Cat NCL-21P6-119), and 10 ml of foetal bovine serum (FBS). It is a sterile liquid culture medium with a low content of foetal bovine serum (2%), vitamins, organic and inorganic compounds, hormones, growth factors, and trace minerals. When the medium is equilibrated in an incubator with a 5% CO2/95% air environment, it is HEPES and bicarbonate buffered and has a pH of 7.4. The medium is designed (quantitatively and qualitatively) to offer a nutritional environment that is properly balanced and to sustain the in vitro development of normal meningeal cells alone.
