Product Overview

Description

Cell line information: HiTSeeker CALCR cell line
Official Full Name: Human Calcitonin Receptor
DNA Accesion Number: GenBank AY430048
Host Cell: HEK293 cell line
Resistance: G418 (Geneticin)
Format: Cryopreserved vials
Storage: Liquid Nitrogen

Features

The HiTector CALCR contains HEK293 cells stably expressing unlabeled human calcitonin receptor (CALCR). The Creative Biolabs CALCR cell line is designed to determine compounds or analyze their ability to modulate calcitonin receptors. When calcitonin binds to CALCR, it activates G protein, which in turn triggers a cellular response mediated by second messengers (calcium and cAMP). This cell line has been validated by measuring the increase in calcium and cAMP in the cytoplasm. The high reproducibility of this assay allows monitoring of the CALC receptor activation process in high-throughput screening.

Assay Description

Creative Biolabs' calcitonin receptor assay allows compounds to be measured or analyzed for their ability to modulate CALCR. When the ligand binds to CALCR, it activates the G protein, which in turn triggers a cellular response mediated by calcium and cAMP. Our CALCR test has been validated to measure the changes in cytoplasmic cAMP and calcium concentrations after being activated by calcitonin. The high reproducibility of this assay allows monitoring of the CALCR activation process in high-throughput screening.

Mycoplasma Testing

The cell line has been screened using the luciferase based mycoplasma detection kit to confirm the absence of mycoplasma species.

Sterility Testing

Sterility testing was performed in accordance with USP and EP regulations. All of our sterility testing is performed in an isolator or clean room environments. The cell line has been screened using the membrane filtration testing methods to confirm the absence of aerobic, anaerobic and fungi microorganisms.

Genetic Stability Testing

Cell genetic stability study was perfomed under ICH guidelines. We provide guidance on the appropriate testing program upon your requirements.
