Assay Description

The green fluorescent calcitonin receptor cell line contains CHO-K1 cells stably expressing CALCR labeled with tGFP. These cell lines were proliferated in vitro according to the cell culture manual and maintained fluorescent GPCR expression. The green fluorescent calcitonin receptor cell line allows compounds to be tested or analyzed for their ability to modulate CALCR activation and subsequent redistribution processes within the cell. When the ligand binds to CALCR, it activates the G protein, which is internalized in large, high-strength vesicles. This cell line has measured fluorescence CALCR redistribution by increasing the fluorescence around the nucleus using image analysis algorithms. The high reproducibility of this assay allows monitoring of the calcitonin receptor redistribution process in high-throughput screening.
