Description
Action potential initiation and conduction are both facilitated by the presence of hNav1.5, which is expressed in cardiomyocytes. QT prolongation and ventricular fibrillation are brought on by Nav1.5 mutations. Local anaesthetics and antiarrhythmic medications both have adverse effects that are directed at the ion channel.
