Description
Even when other channels are remained unresponsive, the Nav1.8 channel can be swiftly reactivated and can still deliver action potentials to the central nervous system. In both pain models and human pain states, changes in the expression of Nav1.8 have been noted; it is clear that the channel protein is moved from the cell body to the damage or injury site. There is strong evidence that antisense oligonucleotide studies contribute to the emergence of hyperexcited states in pain models.
