TRPV3 is a member of the TRP channel family's vanilloid subfamily and is mostly expressed in skin keratinocytes. The skin (keratinocytes) and the brain have the highest levels of TRPV3 channel expression. It serves as a molecule-based thermometer for safe warm temperatures.
