SPECIFIC INQUIRY
inquiryDescription
α1-Antichymotrypsin can inhibit the activity of certain enzymes called proteases by cutting them into different shapes or conformations, such as cathepsin G found in neutrophils and mast cells Chymase. This activity can protect certain tissues, such as the lower respiratory tract, from damage by proteolytic enzymes.
This protein is produced in the liver and is an acute phase protein induced during inflammation.
