Description

The WERI-Rb-I cell line is one of two human eye cancer cell lines established in 1974 by R.M. McFall and T.W. Sery. Cells can survive in Difco Bacto-Agar but do not form clones. Scanning electron microscopy showed changes in the number and frequency of vesicles, lamellar pseudopods, and microvilli on the surface. This cell line can be used for cell differentiation studies, animal models of tumor treatment and biochemical evaluation.

Handling Advice

Passaging method: The culture can be established by centrifugation and then resuspended at 2-3 X 10^5 cells/mL in fresh medium. Keep the cell density between 1 X 10^5 and 1 to 2 X 10^6 cells/ml.
Changing cell medium: 2~3 times/week
