Description
Mouse anti-human TDP43 antibody, recognizes human TAR DNA binding protein 43, also known as TDP43. TPD43 is a transcription and splicing regulator of 414 amino acids ~ 45 kDa. Two isoforms of TDP43 produced by alternative splicing have been described. Mouse anti-human TDP43 antibody, clone 2E2-D3, binds to canonical isoform 1. The binding to truncated isotype 2 is not yet clear, which lacks a significant portion of the immunogenic sequence used to generate clone 2E2-D3. Mutations in the TDP43 gene can lead to the development of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis 10 (ALS10), a neurodegenerative disease that affects the upper motor neurons of the brain and the lower motor neurons of the brain stem and spinal cord, resulting in fatalities paralysis.
