Description

A voltage-gated sodium channel called Nav1.3 is expressed during foetal development and under pathological circumstances in adults. For instance, it is amplified in injured adult peripheral nerves in addition to its normal expression in embryonic dorsal root ganglia and is connected to enhanced electrical excitability in neuropathic pain conditions.
