Description

Mouse anti-Rabbit GAPDH antibody, clone 6C5 can recognize glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH), which is a multifunctional protein of approximately 36 kDa, whose main function is to bind to inorganic phosphate and nicotinamide adenine, Catalyzes the reversible oxidative phosphorylation of glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate. Dinucleotide (NAD). This reaction is an important energy production step in carbohydrate metabolism.
GAPDH has also been shown to translocate to the nucleus under a variety of stressors, most of which are related to oxidative stress, thereby mediating cell death. Further reports indicate that GAPDH binds to several proteins responsible for neurodegenerative diseases, such as amyloid precursor protein and huntingtin.
