Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic inflammatory and demyelinating disease of the central nervous system (CNS). The
spatial and temporal multiplicity of lesions are the prominent features of this disease. Most MS patients begin with
relapsing-remitting MS (RRMS), which develops into secondary progressive MS (SPMS) with increased clinical
exacerbations. MS may be caused by genetic susceptibility, environment, lifestyle, viral infection and immune
mechanisms. The above causes urgently need further research and large sample randomized controlled clinical trials
to verify. Clarifying the cause and pathogenesis of MS will be the focus of future research.

Myelin sheath: The immune system mistakenly attacks the myelin sheath, a protective covering of nerve
fibers in the central nervous system. Targeting this process can help prevent further damage to nerve cells.
These include MBP, myelin-associated glycoprotein (MAG), MOG, PLP, CRYAB, and oligodendrocyte-specific protein.

Immune cells: MS' immunological response is mediated by specific immune cell types. Targeting these
immune cells can help regulate the immune system and protect nerve cells. These cells include T cells, B cells, microglia, macrophages, and dendritic cells.
