Tissue Blocks

Tissue blocks also known as tissue specimens or tissue samples, are intact parts or small pieces of tissue that are removed from human or animal body for experiment and examination. Tissue blocks are commonly used to create thin slides or tissue arrays for studies under a microscope.

Creative Biolabs' tissue blocks are prepared by histologists with many years of experience to ensure molecular integrity and high quality. We are proud of offering comprehensive frozen and paraffin tissue blocks from normal healthy or diseased human, and various animals to support your neuroscience research. Please contact us to get high-quality tissue blocks and related information.

Product Overview

Frozen Tissue Blocks
Fresh tissues are carefully collected from normal healthy, diseased, and tumor samples and snapped frozen in liquid nitrogen. Tissues perfused with 4% PFA (paraformaldehyde) and embedded in OCT are also available upon request.
Paraffin Tissue Blocks
Fresh tissues are carefully collected from normal healthy, diseased, and tumor samples, perfused with 10% neutral buffered formalin, and processed for paraffin embedding.

Tissue Regions

At Creative Biolabs, our histologists with many years of experience are capable of preparing high-quality tissue blocks from different tissue regions, including but not limited to:

  • Whole Brain
  • Brainstem
  • Cerebrum
  • Hypothalamus
  • Olfactory Bulb
  • Thalamus
  • Dorsal Root Ganglia (DRG)
  • Cerebellum
  • Choroids Plexus
  • Medulla
  • Pons
  • Eye
  • Spin Cord
  • Cerebral Cortex
  • Hippocampus
  • Midbrain
  • Striatum

Applications

  • Preparation for tissue sections: The tissue blocks are cut into thin sections using a microtome and then stained with various dyes to highlight specific structures or components within the tissue.
  • Preparation for tissue arrays: Mixed tissue blocks from the same sample or the same tissue site from different patients can be carefully transferred and manually assembled in one block to generate tissue array for high throughput analysis and screening.
  • DNA and RNA Isolation and purification: DNA and RNA can be extracted from well-preserved frozen blocks, paraffin blocks, and formalin-fixed tissues.
  • Neural cell isolation.
  • In situ hybridization.

Advantages

  • Normal tissue blocks from human, mouse, rat, monkey, etc. Almost all species are available.
  • Tissue blocks from patients with neurological diseases. All diagnoses are confirmed by Creative Biolabs' professional pathologist.
  • NGS-characterized brain tumor sections: Astrocytoma, Glioblastoma Multiforme, etc. Detailed patient data will be provided including age, race, sex, date of resection, and tumor percentage.
For Research Use Only. Not For Clinical Use.
