RNA

Ribonucleic acid (RNA) is an intermediate product of gene expression, present in both the cytoplasm and the nucleus. Manipulating RNA plays a crucial role in molecular biology. Obtaining high-purity and intact RNA is essential for many downstream molecular biology experiments, such as microarray hybridization, Northern blotting, cDNA synthesis, RT-PCR, and qRT-PCR. The outcome of these experiments is heavily influenced by the integrity and purity of the RNA used.

Creative Biolabs is passionate about offering an extensive selection of high-quality total RNA from brains and central nervous system of normal or diseased donors as well as a range of animals. Also, universal reference RNA products and matched pair RNA can be provided based on your specific needs to support follow-up experiments. Please reach out to us to obtain RNA products of any brain region, area, or nucleus of any species.

Product Overview

Creative Biolabs is dedicated to providing a range of RNA products from different brain regions of human, mouse, rat, monkey, etc.

Total RNA
All the RNA in a sample and composed of rRNA, pre-mRNA, mRNA, tRNA, miRNA, lncRNA, etc.

Universal Reference RNA
High-quality standard designed for microarray gene-profiling analysis and derived from whole tissue sources.

Matched Pair RNA
Matched Pair total RNA isolated from the same tissue of different species or donor status.

Applications

Creative Biolabs' RNA products are ideal for various downstream experiments, including but not limited to:

  • Northern Blotting
  • cDNA Synthesis
  • RT-PCR & qRT-PCR
  • Microarray Gene-profiling Analysis
  • microRNA Studies
  • Ribonuclease Protection Assay

Quality Control

With extensive experience, Creative Biolabs is proud to obtain tissues from complex and extremely difficult-to-access brain regions and use the modified guanidium thiocyanate method to extract RNA. Stringent quality control assessments verify the integrity and stability of each RNA product:

  • RNA concentration measurement: Quantifying the total RNA concentration can indicate the yield and overall quality of the RNA sample. We typically provide total RNA solubilized in RNase-free water with a concentration of 1 mg/mL.
  • RNA purity: UV absorbance measurements at wavelengths of 260 nm and 280 nm can be used to assess the purity of the RNA sample by examining the ratios of absorbance at these wavelengths (A260/A280 ratio). A ratio of around 2.0 is indicative of pure RNA.
  • RNA integrity: Running the RNA sample on a denaturing agarose gel can provide a visual assessment of RNA integrity and the presence of degradation products such as smearing or low-molecular-weight fragments.
  • Residual DNA contamination: PCR test.
