Genomic DNA

Genomic DNA refers to the DNA present in the nuclei of cells, which contains the entire genetic information of an organism. Genomic DNA contains the instructions for building every protein and molecule in a living organism, making it essential for all biological functions. Variations in genomic DNA can influence an individual's physical traits, health, and susceptibility to certain diseases.

At Creative Biolabs, we provide high-quality genomic DNA isolated from a variety of human and animal species, ensuring it is pure and retains its high molecular weight integrity. Our outstanding genomic DNA allows scientists to predict disease risk and personalize treatments based on individual genetic and non-genetic factors in the future.

Quality Control

  • The quality of the genomic DNA was verified by analyzing the banding pattern on an agarose gel after electrophoresis, which showed pure and intact DNA bands of the expected size.
  • Additionally, the purity of the DNA sample was confirmed by measuring the A260/280 ratio, which was found to be greater than 1.8, indicating minimal protein contamination.
  • The absence of RNA contamination was further confirmed by the successful amplification of the Beta-Actin gene using PCR.
  • Finally, the DNA sample was digested with EcoR1 and/or Hind III enzymes, resulting in the expected fragment sizes, demonstrating the integrity of the DNA for downstream applications.

Applications

  • Single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) analysis: SNP analysis involves investigating variations in a single nucleotide base across individuals, providing valuable insights into genetic diversity and the underlying mechanisms of disease and drug response.
  • Southern Blotting
  • Genomic DNA methylation analysis.
  • PCR
  • Genomic DNA library construction.
  • Profiling studies in gene expression.

Advantages

  • Genomic DNA isolated from brain tissues of normal human and diseased human & more than a dozen animals.
  • Includes control genomic DNAs from both male and female individuals across different species.
  • Rigorous quality control measures result in high-quality genomic DNA.
  • Demonstrates high PCR efficiency.
