Description

When combined with astrocyte growth supplement animal (AGS-a, Cat. No. NCL-21P6-127) and 10 ml of foetal bovine serum (FBS), astrocyte culture medium for animals (AM-a) is a complete medium that has been specifically created to promote the optimal growth of normal human and in vitro animal astrocytes. It is a sterile liquid culture medium with a low content of foetal bovine serum (2%), vitamins, organic and inorganic compounds, hormones, growth factors, and trace minerals. When the medium is equilibrated in an incubator with a 5% CO2/95% air environment, it is HEPES and bicarbonate buffered and has a pH of 7.4. The medium has been designed (quantitatively and qualitatively) to offer an ideal nutritional environment to specifically facilitate the in vitro development of typical animal astrocytes.
