Product Overview

Description

Neuroinflammation broadly defines the collective response Immune response in the brain and spinal cord Injuries and illnesses. Central nervous system inflammation (CNS) Usually related to different levels of organization Damage, such as loss of myelin sheath and neurons. Vimentin is a structural protein encoded by the VIM gene in the human body.
Vimentin is a type III intermediate filament (IF) protein expressed in mesenchymal cells. The IF protein is found in all animal cells and bacteria. IF together with tubulin-based microtubules and actin-based microfilaments constitute the cytoskeleton. All IF proteins are expressed in a highly developmentally regulated manner. Vimentin is the main cytoskeletal component of mesenchymal cells. Therefore, vimentin is commonly used as a marker for cells of mesenchymal origin or cells undergoing epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) during normal development and metastasis.
