Product Overview

Description

Aldehyde dehydrogenase family 1, member L1 (ALDH1L1) is a cytoplasmic enzyme and a member of the large family of aldehyde dehydrogenases. ALDH1L1 catalyzes the NADP(+)-dependent oxidation of 10-formyltetrahydrofolate to tetrahydrofolate and carbon dioxide (1). ALDH1L1 expression has a high degree of tissue specificity, and the expression level in the liver is very high, accounting for 1% of the total pool of soluble cell proteins. Kahoi et al. Use fluorescence activated cell sorting to isolate astrocytes from transgenic mice expressing enhanced green fluorescent protein (GFP). GFP expression is controlled by the S100β promoter, which is expected to guide GFP to astrocytes.

Immunogen

Amino acids 402-902 of human ALDH1L1 protein expressed and purified in E. coli.
