Product Overview

Description

Synaptic signaling is the communication between cells that occurs at the synaptic level. Cells communicate with each other through direct contact (near secretory signals), short distances (paracrine signals), or long distances and scales (endocrine signals). Other cells form gap junctions, connecting their cytoplasm to The cytoplasm of adjacent cells. When the sending neuron is activated, the electrical impulse will propagate with it Axon. Once the impulse reaches the synapse, it triggers the release of neurotransmitters. Tyrosine hydroxylase or tyrosine 3-monooxygenase is the enzyme responsible for catalyzing the conversion of the amino acid L-tyrosine to L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (L-DOPA). It uses molecular oxygen (O2) as well as iron (Fe2+) and tetrahydrobiopterin as cofactors. L-DOPA is a precursor of dopamine, which is also a precursor of the important neurotransmitters norepinephrine (norepinephrine) and epinephrine (adrenaline). Tyrosine hydroxylase catalyzes the rate-limiting step in the synthesis of catecholamines. In humans, tyrosine hydroxylase is encoded by the TH gene, and this enzyme is present in the central nervous system (CNS), peripheral sympathetic neurons, and adrenal medulla. Tyrosine hydroxylase, phenylalanine hydroxylase and tryptophan hydroxylase together form the family of aromatic amino acid hydroxylases (AAAHs).
