Product Overview

Description

Microtubules are protein rods with a diameter of 25 nanometers found in most eukaryotic cells and are related to a family of proteins called microtubule-associated proteins (MAP). MAPs play a crucial role in the regulation of microtubule dynamics and interactions in vivo. MAP2 was originally named one of the higher molecular weight MAPs, and its SDS-PAGE molecular weight was about 280kDa (1-3). There is a mammalian MAP2 gene, which can produce two high-molecular-weight proteins of about 280kDa on SDS-PAGE, called MAP2A and MAP2B, and a variety of low-molecular-weight forms, usually called MAP2C and MAP2D, which are between 60-70kDa Run on SDS-PAGE gel.

Immunogen

The full-length recombinant human MAP2D protein Prot-r-MAP2D expressed and purified in E. coli.
