Description

Cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) is an intracellular messenger molecule responsible for the functions of many cells, including neurons, promoting the growth of axons and maintaining communication between neurons. The molecular pathway of cAMP is well studied and it is known to play an important role in regulating synaptic function; however, indicators capable of precisely monitoring its intracellular activity remain to be developed.

The novel green fluorescent cAMP indicator gCarvi from Creative Biolabs solves this problem. Their indicators can be easily expressed using adeno-associated viral vectors and enable quantitative measurement of basal concentrations of cAMP (referred to as [cAMP]) within neuronal cells.
